Winston’s - A Brunch Place
About This Spot
Winston’s - A Brunch Place feels like a gentle morning stroll right in the heart of Pacific Grove. Nestled along Lighthouse Avenue, this spot invites you to pause and savor a slow, thoughtful start to your day. As you step inside—if you can find a seat in its cozy, bustling interior—you’re welcomed by the warm hum of neighbors sharing stories, families enjoying a relaxed weekend ritual, and the soft clatter of plates mingling with friendly chatter.
The pace here is unhurried yet lively, leaning into the joy of brunch as much more than a meal. It’s a gathering space that thrives on simple pleasures: the aroma of freshly brewed coffee blending with the promise of something buttery and bright coming out of the kitchen. Many choose to settle on the sidewalk patio, where the fresh coastal air and occasional seagull calls become the backdrop to slow conversations and the occasional burst of laughter.
Winston’s kitchen crafts a menu that feels thoughtfully eclectic, inviting guests to discover unexpected pairings and timeless favorites alike. Whether it’s the tang of lemon ricotta mingling with luscious blueberry compote or the comforting richness of a smoked salmon Benedict, each dish tastes like a small celebration of local ingredients and careful hands. The brunch here doesn’t rush you—it encourages exploration, whether you’re sampling a savory omelette brimming with goat cheese or indulging in a crisp chicken and waffle combo.
The drink offerings keep the mood bright and easygoing too. From vibrant mango mimosas to freshly squeezed juices and a humble cappuccino, they add just the right lift alongside your meal without stealing the show.
True to its neighborhood roots, Winston’s embodies an approachable spirit. The team’s kindness and attentiveness create an atmosphere that’s welcoming to everyone—from those bringing rambunctious kids to patrons seeking a quiet nook for solo reflection. It’s a place where the community feels a little closer and brunch feels like a shared ritual rather than just a menu check.

My food was okay. The white part of my egg on my Benedict was not cooked all the way. We sat out on the sidewalk because the inside is small and packed. Overall, it’s just an okay place. They do what they can considering the location and seating options. But the food could’ve been better to make me give it 5 stars.

Amazing brunch at Winston’s! The food was incredibly fresh, and the menu had a great mix of diverse and unique items—you don’t see options like theirs everywhere. The crab eggs Benedict was the best I’ve ever had. The cappuccino wasn’t the strongest point, but it’s a brunch spot, not a coffee house, so no complaints there. We ate outside and really enjoyed the atmosphere. The wait was minimal, and afterward we were able to walk to nearby shops, which made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend!

Food, water, atmosphere! All were incredible. Hospitality was refreshing, prices fair! I absolutely love the “if you have no money, come in for a free sandwich” sign on the window. What a wonderful way to serve the community. 10 out of 10 experience. A new local favorite spot. Thank you everyone!

This place was amazing. The food was great. I had the Lemon Blueberry Pancakes. The best pancakes I’ve had in my life. My wife ordered the Brisket Benedict. She loved it. I would definitely recommend.

Our family of 6 (4 children) was very happy, comfortable, and satisfied. The staff was soooo helpful and kind to the kids. The atmosphere was lovely and casual. We arrived about 8:30 on a Monday and were seated right away. My husband loved the corned beef hash. I had the Tres Leches French Toast, which was great, but next time I'm getting the standard French toast that I watched my son eat. My other son had the chicken and waffles, and that was some of the best fried chicken I've ever had. One of my daughters had the Nutella French toast and cleared the plate, so it must have been good. The other daughter had the Lemon Ricotta pancakes. She was the only one with leftovers, but only because it was so plentiful. She said it had a very rich flavor. My mocha was very good, made fresh at the espresso machine across the room and presented beautifully.

I stopped by Winston’s for a weekday brunch, and even though it was crowded (as expected), I was seated right away. The staff was warm and friendly, making the experience even better. The food really hit the spot—my goat cheese omelet was amazing, and even though I was full, I couldn’t resist trying the lemon blueberry pancakes. I’m so glad I did because they were absolutely delicious—I savored every bite! This place is definitely on my list whenever I’m back in town. A must-visit for a great brunch!

There are many breakfast/brunch places in the surrounding area. When my wife and I share a weekday off we tend to grab breakfast and sometimes try a new to us place. The wait on a Friday mid morning was short. The atmosphere was comfortable and the volume in the restaurant was low. Service was quick and the staff were attentive. The food was good and the food that was delivered around us looked good too. My wife got the corned beef hash because of the description and she enjoyed it. I got the biscuits and gravy, this was the single disappointing thing. While good the portion size was small. For 18 dollars you get a single biscuit (not biscuits), which I found weird because nearly every plate that came out around us was larger and also included a biscuit. I ended up ordering a second biscuit and a side of gravy which was larger than the amount of gravy I was served. Good food but I’d order something different for the cost.

Stayed in Monterey for the weekend with hubby and we went here for breakfast. The food was delicious and the service was great!! The place inside is small, so depending on the time you show up, you might have to wait for a seat. We didnt wait long because we sat outside on a beautiful gloomy day. We love the cold weather, so it was perfect for us. Our waitress let us know about that days special, which was chilaquiles, and Im glad I ordered them because they were GOOD!! My husband loved his chicken and waffle. And my favorote was their chocolate chip pancakes with caramelized bananas on top. *chefs kiss*
